Hanging Flower Basket Program starts in May! The baskets are ordered through Henery’s Garden Center, they will be sending order forms to businesses that have ordered baskets in the past. Port Townsend best small town in America

June 27, 2014 by bluegullinn

Well, one of America’s 10 best small towns of 2014 according to Fodor’s Travel. Port Townsend will always be number one in my heart, but is in good company. Some other towns listed are Telluride, Colorado and Paia, Hawaii… nothing to sneeze at. The only way to know for sure is to come for a visit. If you have been to PT you already know what all the fuss is about. If you haven’t been out this way, now you don’t have to take my word for it, this is a must-see kind of town.Port Townsend

Memorial Day Weekend

May 21, 2014 by bluegullinn

We welcome not only anPort Townsend Ferry extended weekend but the unofficial start to summer. The weather has been wonderful lately and will hopefully hold out through Monday. Regardless of what Mother Nature decides to throw our way us Washingtonians won’t let a little rain spoil our good time. There is the Shrimp Fest going on in Brinnon, WA the 24th & 25th. If you are looking for live music stop by the Quimper Grange to hear Portland’s New Iberians play Zydeco, Blues, Soul, & New Orleans Rock’n’Roll; you can even join in a dance lesson. Getting hungry? The 1st Annual Port Townsend Artisan Food Festival sounds delicious and interesting!

Rhody Festival weekend is here!

May 16, 2014 by bluegullinn

One of the biggest weekends in Port Townsend, the Rhododendron Festival, kicks off summer fun in P.T. The good news is, there is still room for you to join us for the fun and festivities. The Grand Parade starts at 1:00 on Saturday May 17th while the Rhody Run begins at 11:00 on Sunday. The Blue Gull Inn is less than a block from the parade route. You will find all the information you need at http://www.rhodyfestival.org to plan the weekend.

Relax and enjoy the flower in our gardens.

Don’t hide from the weather, embrace it!

February 2, 2013 by bluegullinn

Does is seem like everyone is planning a tropical or exotic getaway? Wouldn’t you like to have a little getaway of your own? You can… and without blowing your whole budget. There is beauty right here in your own backyard. There are miles of beaches to walk and regain your mental balance and sense of calm (that frankly, I think we could all use right about now). If you need to warm up try something spicy or exotic at Khu Larb Thai or Hanazono Asian Noodle. If you enjoy tea, Pippa’s is a friendly place to visit. They have so many different blends you are almost certain to find one you like…make mine the Jasmine Green!

North Beach is one of Port Townsend’s beautiful, if somewhat hidden, treasures. Known primarily only to locals it is perfect for beachcombing, having a picnic or diving (for the more adventurous). There is also facebook page displaying and selling beach glass that has washed up. If you are interested, ask the Innkeepers John and Renee for directions… we want to keep this one a secret.
