While different, these can both be great ways to spend an afternoon in Port Townsend. Set up a golf tee time at Port Townsend Golf Course, located within walking distance of the Blue Gull Inn. It is a 9 hole golf course with a driving range that boasts beautiful views of town and the Olympic Mountains on a clear day. If you are looking for a ‘cup of tea’ time then head downtown to Pippas’s Real Tea. This is more of a modern take on a tea room, so it’s a laid-back,casual, and comfortable way to enjoy a soothing cup of tea and tasty treat.
Does is seem like everyone is planning a tropical or exotic getaway? Wouldn’t you like to have a little getaway of your own? You can… and without blowing your whole budget. There is beauty right here in your own backyard. There are miles of beaches to walk and regain your mental balance and sense of calm (that frankly, I think we could all use right about now). If you need to warm up try something spicy or exotic at Khu Larb Thai or Hanazono Asian Noodle. If you enjoy tea, Pippa’s is a friendly place to visit. They have so many different blends you are almost certain to find one you like…make mine the Jasmine Green!
The 16th annual Lavender Festival is coming up next weekend, Friday, July 20th– Sunday, 22nd. The event takes place in Sequim, WA and includes a street fair, with free admission and parking, as well as self guided, also free, farm tours. This is the largest lavender event in North America and includes seven different lavender farms from around the area. I don’t know about you but I could use some relaxing aromatherapy and with free admission you can’t go wrong. In fact, you will probably see me there.
