One of the biggest weekends in Port Townsend, the Rhododendron Festival, kicks off summer fun in P.T. The good news is, there is still room for you to join us for the fun and festivities. The Grand Parade starts at 1:00 on Saturday May 17th while the Rhody Run begins at 11:00 on Sunday. The Blue Gull Inn is less than a block from the parade route. You will find all the information you need at http://www.rhodyfestival.org to plan the weekend.
North Beach is one of Port Townsend’s beautiful, if somewhat hidden, treasures. Known primarily only to locals it is perfect for beachcombing, having a picnic or diving (for the more adventurous). There is also facebook page displaying and selling beach glass that has washed up. If you are interested, ask the Innkeepers John and Renee for directions… we want to keep this one a secret.
The Port Townsend/Coupeville route will be on its regular schedule on the Memorial Day holiday, Monday, May 28. Customers are strongly encouraged to make reservations in advance for holiday weekend travel on this route by visiting the WSF website or calling 511. Expect heavy traffic and long wait times westbound Thursday evening, Friday afternoon and evening, and Saturday morning, and eastbound on Monday. Please consider traveling outside of peak times to avoid the longest waits.
Rock on the front porch and visit one of the first homes built in Port Townsend, WA. This home was built in 1868 as is currently the Blue Gull Inn B&B. Lots of flowers blooming in the yard. Visit Port Townsend, Washington’s Victorian Seaport.
We are again hosting the Victorian Festival Teas this year. I’m a tea drinker and huge fan of the whole process of having “Afternoon Tea”! Something about “tea sandwiches & scones” always gets my attention… Join us for a lovely time with friends and tea, here at the Blue Gull Inn, March 24~25…see you there!
