When you visit Port Townsend and find yourself in the mood for Thai food, head to Khu Larb Thai Restaurant. This is the best Thai food restaurant around, seriously, miles around. This is a lovely place for a date or a get-together with friends, they always have a fresh rose on each table. From the menu my personal favorites are their Egg Rolls, Tom Yum Goong, and the Garlic Pork… yummm. They also have delicious bubble tea and to-go orders “next door” at the Little Rose. I think you’ll find the only bad thing about this place is you have to come back to P.T. to get more!
When travelling to Port Townsend it is easy to be overwhelmed by restaurant choices. For Japanese food my pick is Ichikawa. My personal favorites are the daily Bento box or Chef’s choice combos (always good and allows me to try something new). There are options for the no-raw-fish eaters as well, their tempura udon is very good. You don’t have to take my word for it, check out the reviews on Yelp or Tripadvisor. They are located downtown, across from the Port Townsend Ferry Dock. This is a smaller establishment and can get very busy on the weekends, I recommend making a reservation. If you are with a group of 8 or more, reserving the Tatami room is fun and a little more private.
The Silverwater Café is located in downtown Port Townsend on the corner of newly refurbished Taylor Street. The restaurant has been around for over 20 years and serves everything from Dungeness crab cakes to braised lamb to lentil burgers. Vegetarians and meat-eaters are sure to find something delicious from their unique and eclectic menu. This is a great place to have dinner with that special someone and go catch a movie next door at The Rose Theatre, they even offer a 3 course Pre Theater Meal. The Mezzaluna Lounge is located upstairs and offers a wide variety of wine.
