If you come to Port Townsend and want to catch a movie, you won’t find the typical huge multiplex. The Rose Theatre, circa 1907, is located in downtown Port Townsend and it is a unique and memorable spot to catch a flick. An independent cinema on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, offering the best in current films, classic and cult movies, in addition to world-class broadcasts of theatre, dance and opera from all over the globe. You can check out what is currently showing and what movies are coming soon on their website.
If watching movies in a beautiful old building wasn’t good enough, how about one outside. With this amazing summer weather, watching a classic black and white movie under the stars is exactly how I’d want to spend an evening. This Thursday, July 10th @ 9:00pm the Free Outdoor Movies of the week is Casablanca. Bring a blanket and some snacks and head out to Fort Worden State Park.
If you do decide to head down to the Rose Theatre for one of their movies, don’t forget the popcorn! It is always fresh and they have an assortment of delicious goodness to top it with.
