The Blue Gull Inn Bed & Breakfast is appropriately named for the many Blue Gulls, the common gulls, that sit atop the gabled roof and wait for the leftovers from breakfast! After moving to Port Townsend from St. Charles, Illinois, one of the first things we were pleased to find was the sound of the gulls from very open window. We were so happy to be back on the coast of Washington! That’s how we decided on the name Blue Gull. Our Inn, along with one of Port Townsend’s oldest and largest trees, giant Monterey Cypress, has long been a gem in the heart of Port Townsend’s Historical Uptown District.
We are not a traditional Victorian…
Our Inn wants to offer a more casual Country style… with comfy furniture, eclectic collections, and a relaxed atmosphere. We want our guests to feel comfortable and at home here. Our Inn is now over 140 years old, built just 3 years after the end of the Civil War.
The Guest Experience at Our Inn, a Port Townsend Bed & Breakfast
Our parlor is available for guests to use, and you may unwind by reading a book, chatting with Innkeepers about things to do in the area or looking over the local activities. Hiking and Whale Watching are a couple of great ways to spend a day in our area.
The lovely, shady gardens are a great place to visit on warm afternoons. We have regular visits from the locals: raccoons, deer, squirrels and eagles in our own back yard are just some of the “perks” of living in beautiful Port Townsend!
We hope you’ll choose to stay at our unique Port Townsend Bed & Breakfast Inn while visiting the great Pacific Northwest!
