Every September the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium is held at Fort Warden State Park and is the largest gathering of kayakers on the West Coast. Kayaking in Port Townsend is available with many different tour operators and when booking your stay please ask for some recommendations.

Wooden Boat Festival at Port Townsend

The biggest festival of the year has to be Wooden Boat. We have guests from all over the world that come here for this event. One year we had over 90 wooden boats in Port Townsend Bay. Port Townsend is one of 3 Victorian Seaports in the USA. There is music and lots of great activites and information on wooden boats. One year we had a battle between 2 ships in the bay.

This is the Point Wilson Lighthouse and Coast Guard Station, with Whidbey Island across the water at the entrance to Puget Sound. When the tide is out you can walk all the way around the lighthouse on the beach.

We have a great location here on the Olympic Peninsula, and one of the day trips our guests like to make is to Salt Creek. It’s a tide pool, with lots of interesting sea life, like this starfish.
